The Center for Family Solutions provides counseling services to children and non-offending family members who have experienced trauma as the result of abuse. CFS believes that overcoming trauma is a process that is best supported by a network of safe and caring relationships. Our programs strengthen relationships through outreach, education and the arts so that children and families are connected with cultural and community resources that support wellness. With this concept at its core, CFS works closely with community partners and creates programs on site and in the schools that promote positive outcomes. The Center for Family Solutions offers assistance to individuals seeking to file Domestic Violence Civil Protection Orders (CPO) in the Butler County Domestic Relations Court. Victim advocates from CFS can help with filling out the petition for a CPO either in court or at the CFS office. Advocates can also sit in on ex parte (emergency) and final hearings, and work to connect clients with legal assistance. CFS will continue follow up with clients to check if any additional resources are needed and to work on creating a safety plan.
CFS identifies as its consumers not only the families dealing with trauma but also the professionals serving them. CFS offers training to professionals to assist in their ongoing professional development. CFS also sees the community as a consumer and offers many educational opportunities to organizations and individuals throughout Butler County that promote supporting children and families in crisis to end child abuse.
CFS provides prevention presentations in the areas of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and bullying.
